After-School Care Program
Hang Out is an after-school program that is designed to meet the different needs of Crossroads students and their families. The program has two main components: 1) daily and drop-in after-school care and 2) enrichment classes. All children who participate in the Hang Out program receive a hearty snack. Third through fifth graders attend study hall to get a head start on homework. The afternoon program runs from 2:50 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. daily on school days and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on most pupil-free days.
Hang Out includes outside play and a wonderful variety of choices including creative art activities, imaginative play, building opportunities and fun games and puzzles. Students can be enrolled in daily care for one to five days a week or may "drop-in" on an as-needed basis.
Two semesters of enrichment classes are offered throughout the year. Examples of the wide variety of class offerings are: ceramics, band, dance, cooking, chess sports, fencing, robotics, technology and yoga. Classes meet on a weekly basis. Course and material fees vary by class and session.
