  • Medical Insurance

    Full-time employees are given the option to choose between 5 different health insurance plans that cater to different employees needs: PPO/HRA, PPO/HSA and 2 HMOs. Crossroads currently pays 100% for the premium for employee portion on 4 of the 5 plans. Crossroads also contributes towards the cost of premiums for spouse/partner and dependent coverage options.
  • Dental Insurance

    Crossroads offers a PPO plan at no cost to the employee. Crossroads contributes toward the premium for plans that have spouse/partner and dependent coverage.
  • Vision Insurance

    Crossroads pays 100% for an employee vision care plan. Crossroads contributes toward the premium for plans that have spouse/partner and dependent coverage.
  • Retirement Savings Plan

    Crossroads School offers a defined contribution retirement plan to help its employees save for retirement. Employees may make their own voluntary contributions on a pre-tax or on a post-tax basis (Roth), up to Federal maximums.
     
    In addition, full time and part time employees who are expected to work at least 950 hours in a year are eligible for Crossroads contributions to their retirement accounts, as a school benefit. Crossroads contributions start with the first paycheck cycle upon an employee’s hiring, with no vesting or waiting periods. 
     
    The contribution amounts from Crossroads will be based on the employees’ “Base Salary”, which for faculty employees is defined as their “Basic” or “Standard” teaching contract amount, including educational credentials but excluding any other type of additional stipends such as department chair, mentoring, DEI coordination, etc. For non-teaching employees the “Base Salary” is based on a maximum of 2,080 hours per year (which is 40 hours per week times 52 weeks per year). 
     
    The Crossroads contributions start at a minimum of 5% for employees with fewer than 5 years of teaching experience or working for a school or non-profit upon hire. For additional years of experience after year 5, employees will receive either 6%, 7%, or 8% of their Base Salary as a benefit to their retirement account, with 8% being the maximum.
  • Life Insurance

    Crossroads pays the full premium for a Basic Life & AD&D life insurance policy, equal to the employee’s salary for up to a maximum of $50,000. Supplemental Life insurance is also available for purchase at a reduced group rate.
  • Disability Income Protection

    Short-term: At no cost to the employee, Crossroads offers full-time employees short-term disability. Employees are eligible for one week of supplemental pay for each year of full-time employment, up to a maximum of eight weeks. This benefit can be used only once per disabling condition and once per fiscal year, and it requires an application to state disability insurance.
    Long-term: After 90 days of disability or exhaustion of sick leave/short-term disability, the employee is offered 60% of their income up to a maximum of $10,000 per month, as long as they remain disabled, up to age 65.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

    New York Life offers MA-level counselors 24/7 to provide confidential assistance with personal or work related concerns. This is offered to all employees and their family members, regardless of enrollment status at no cost.
  • Vacation

    Non-teaching full-time employees are eligible for vacation accrual and benefits. Accrual rates are explained in the employee handbook.
