Welcome

From the Head of School

Welcome to Crossroads, a leading progressive school offering an educational environment as nurturing as it is inspiring.
When I first joined Crossroads six years ago, our parents, teachers and staff members were eager to tell me about the students at my new school. “Crossroads students ask a lot of questions” was one common refrain. “Crossroads students are very creative” was another.

But most often, I heard some version of this sentiment: “Crossroads students know who they are.”

It didn’t take long for me to understand what they meant. Crossroads School’s student-centered, whole-child approach to education helps children develop into confident and self-aware young adults. Students are encouraged to tackle academic coursework with curiosity, questioning the status quo and examining complex issues through an interdisciplinary lens. Through our Life Skills and service learning programs, children as young as kindergarten learn to speak from the heart, listen with compassion and engage in meaningful community service.

Students demonstrate their passion, skills and discipline through our renowned arts and athletics programs. Experiential and Outdoor Education trips get students out of their comfort zones and into nature as they build resilience and make lasting memories.

Throughout the student journey, our exceptional, dedicated faculty serve as guides and mentors. Our small student-to-teacher ratio enables teachers to know their students deeply, providing each one just the right amount of challenge, support and freedom for them to excel.

As a result of our approach, Crossroads students develop self-esteem and a clear understanding of their own interests, strengths and values. They have the courage to try new things, and the knowledge that failure is part of the learning process. They have the emotional intelligence to connect deeply with others, and the desire to use their voice and their talents to make a positive impact in the world.

What does all this look like on our campuses? It looks like a School vibrating with the energy of a student body that feels inspired, supported, seen, heard and loved for who they are and what they bring to our community. I invite you to explore our website, reach out to the Admission Office with any questions and learn more about our remarkable School.
